Idea comment- The idea comment I made was on Nicole’s essay. My comment said, “Maybe add something about how it helps people express themselves.” This is an idea comment because it is giving her advice on things to add to her essay to make it stronger.
Evidence Comment- The evidence comment I made was on Eric’s introduction. Although the only claim in the intro is the thesis, I would consider my comment, which said, “I think that you should use a different analogy to better connect your conclusion and intro together. Also I didn’t think the example given made sense with the rest of the essay.” to be in the evidence category because the intro carries the rest of the essay and it should match the main idea.
Organization Comment- My organization comment was on Hannah Little’s paper. It said, “I think you should make the second body paragraph the first.” This is a organization comment because it is moving around the information of the essay.
I think that making global edits is very hard, especially when you’ve never edited a paper this way. I understand why people would do them but I think that it’s a lot of work for someone else to do for another person with nothing in it for them in the end. It was very hard not to make small corrections because little things like out of place commas tend to really bother me. Over all I think this experience was challenging but doable.

I appreciate your honesty. I think the thing that you can get out of doing the hard work of suggesting global edits on someone else’s paper, is that you get the opportunity to see a paper as just that–as an essay that could be stronger. You get to explore how to make it stronger without having to actually follow through. You aren’t invested in a peer’s text, so you can see with clearer eyes what works and what doesn’t. 3/3
